Awards

Since we established Eden in 2018, we have been guided by a fundamental principle:

"To create exceptional Single Malt whisky, we must first produce exceptional New Make Spirit."

Or to put it another way, we understand that in order to obtain great whisky from the barrel, we must first ensure that the spirit we put into the barrel is of the highest quality.

Our relentless pursuit of exceptional spirit led us on a journey of extensive research and numerous trials involving yeast strains, mashing techniques, and distillation processes. It was during this exploration that we experienced a breakthrough moment, realising that we had stumbled upon something truly remarkable.

Seeking validation from experts, we decided to submit our New Make Spirit to the 2022 World Whiskies Awards held in London. To our delight, our spirit was honoured with a Silver Medal on the global stage, earning the recognition as the best in Australia.

Emboldened by this achievement, we once again entered the 2023 World Whiskies Awards in London, this time submitting not only our New Make Spirit but also our first release, Autograph-Bourbon Cask, and our second release, Allegory-Smoky Apera cask.

We are thrilled to share that our Allegory (Smoky Apera), the second release, won a Bronze in the No Age Statement Category, while our Autograph (Bourbon Cask), the first release, earned a Silver Medal in the 12 years and under category. Furthermore, our New Make Spirit was awarded a Gold Medal, being recognised as the Best Australian and winning its category.

We are incredibly humbled by this early recognition in our journey, particularly when considering the remarkable competition within Australia.

As a small family owned business, where possible we choose to source from and support other local Tasmanian businesses. Not only when seeking raw materials, such as our Tasmanian malted barley, but also local services and creative talent. As such we engaged local Artist Sam Lyne to create a series of illustrations to represent our brand story. I think you will agree with us that he has done an exceptional job at capturing Eden and the spirit of the mountain where we live. It is no surprise, then that Sam‘s work was recognised by his industry when awarded a Diemen award for best in the illustration category at this years Diemen Awards.

Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement,  we are truly excited about what the future holds and what we can achieve together.

Cheers,

Dale And Claire Williams
