This limited release single malt whisky was matured in a French Oak ex Apera Cask using our award winning (Australia's Best) new make spirit.

Whilst we have more ex Apera and Spanish sherry cask releases on the way, none will replicate this one due to its smokiness. The smokiness wasn't planned but possibly the result of an extra long toasting of the cask. However it happened, we are very pleased it did.

At lower ABV's the smoke was more dominant, compared to higher strengths where the "sherry" sweetness prevailed. We settled upon 51.8% because at this ABV the whisky demonstrated the perfect balance and integration of smokiness and sweetness.

COLOUR: Russet Muscat 1.3

NOSE: Initially smokey, almost sweet phenols resulting from an extra heavy toasting of the cask. As it warms sweet nutty sherry notes push through. Rounded and sweet, not bristly at all even at this high ABV.

PALATE: Gently smoky at first with sweet sherry and roasted hazelnut pushing through in the middle as it warms.

FINISH: A gentle sweet aniseed finish with hints of white pepper. Think smokey liquorice allsorts.

 

This whisky has been described as being a lighter style but full of flavour.

Eden Whisky accepts no responsibility to alter or cancel orders once they have been placed. Please double check your items, cart and details before placing your order.

We really want you to be super happy with your order and so we always aim to ensure that all products supplied arrive in perfect condition.

Our Returns Policy covers the rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

If you are unhappy with any of the products you have received from us, we will refund your money or exchange the products, provided that you inform us of your intention to return the products within seven working days from the date of your order being delivered. If your purchase incurred a delivery fee, we will also cover the cost of delivery for the return.

Please note that we will only reimburse the cost of returning items where they were delivered in error or the items were damaged or defective.

Under the Liquor Licensing Act 1990 it is offence:

for liquor to be delivered to a person under the age of 18 years.

Penalty: Fine not exceeding 20 penalty units.

for a person under the age of 18 years to purchase liquor.

Penalty: Fine not exceeding 10 penalty units.
