We are proud to share that Authors Make Ex Tasmanian Pinot and Ex Bourbon cask has been awarded Bronze at the 2026 World Whiskies Awards, for Small Batch Single Malt releases 12 years and under.

This release brings together bold Christmas spice with honey and vanilla on the nose, followed by nutmeg, cocoa and a light touch of smoke on the palate. The finish carries warming spice, dried fruit and a clean Dutch apple tart note.

Maker Dale explains - "Traditionally our Authors Make has been either single cask Tas Pinot or a vatting of Tas Pinot casks.  Following the success of our 2024 Gold medal Sherry(Apera) /American oak vatting I experimented in early 2025 with introducing some bourbon cask matured Eden to our Signature Pinot matured Whisky. 

"The marriage was highly successful. The spicy peppery notes from the European oak are beautifully balanced by the sweet vanillin’s from our American oak bourbon casks.  The art was finding the perfect ratio at just the right ABV for both vatting and subsequent cutting and bottling.

"I’m really happy with this result, we have more Pinot and bourbon casks to create more of this release. It is a delicious easy drinking whisky."
